(June 26, 2017) — EWASTE+, a world-class provider of electronics recycling, data destruction, and value recovery solutions to thousands of businesses across New York State, has completed another successful R2/RIOS recertification audit. R2/RIOS™ is a combination of the Responsible Recycling (R2) Practices and the Recycling Industry Operating Standards™ (RIOS™). “Our team has been instrumental in advancing EWASTE+ capabilities across the Northeast and now with another successful R2/RIOS audit under our belt, our team’s hard work has been validated,” stated Mike Whyte, CEO & President, EWASTE+.
Recertification audits occur every three years and serve as an in-depth review of each and every aspect of the EWASTE+ Quality, Environment, Health & Safety (QEH&S) management system. The 2017 audit report not only represents seven years of continuous compliance under our industry’s leading certification; it marks a year of “audit perfection” – 100% compliance – at all three EWASTE+ facilities. “The auditor was very thorough and through objective evidence he verified that EWASTE+ was 100% compliant across the entire R2/RIOS standard”. This was the message communicated throughout EWASTE+ by its Director of Compliance, Chris Smith.
2017 marks the company’s 22nd year in business. This latest accomplishment of achieving 100% compliance in the annual R2/RIOS audit verifies that every single EWASTE+ employee is committed to the never ending journey of continuous improvement. The leadership team would like to thank every EWASTE+ team member for their outstanding effort during this audit. A company-wide BBQ was held on June 22nd, where EWASTE+ celebration apparel was distributed and each EWASTE+ employee was granted an additional paid day off to extend their 4th of July holiday.
